pull out

 threads frayed
yet the heat stuck
stubborn despite the air
virulent meant-to-be conversations were stonefaced
silence often overstayed
and when the stone cracked
chaos ran even in the bricks
and the fire could rage on
till one glanced at the clock
and simply walked away
yet no attempt to build walls
when desire to do so
brimming in every breath
